Our New House

We looked at 6 or 7 rental houses before my Mom found this house for us!  It is right in Papillion (where we wanted to be), has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a huge yard!  We are renting just to make sure that we are where we for sure want to be, and to make sure we like the neighborhood, neighbors, schools, etc. The pictures are in a weird order, but I can't seem to move them in the order I want.

Without further ado...
The front of the house.  Extra driveway on side.
Enormous back deck and cement slab for Cameron's basketball hoop!
Long view of the brand new back deck.
The ugliest master bath on the block.
Stairs right upon entry.

Getting My Act Together...Maybe

Well, we have now lived in Papillion for almost 4 months!  I have gone back and forth on whether or not to blog, so I am going to keep it up for a few weeks and see how it goes!

I feel like we are somewhat settled in to our house, our town, our new state, and still unsettled.

I miss Colorado like crazy (no humidity, our families, friends, no humidity), but I do like Nebraska a lot more than I thought I was going to.

So, I will try very hard to get some good blogging done (easier said than done with one year old twins and a 4 year old).  Wish me luck!

Papillion

Papillion is where we will be living in Nebraska (more on why we chose there later).  There are some great things happening in that town...check out some of what I found!

From the Papillion Website for New Residents:
Quality of Life
- Papillion's total park space - 653 Acres
- Papillion's percentage of park space - 28.7%
- Papillion offers two city-owned golf courses
- Twelve city parks & a city-wide trail system- Sumtur Amphitheater - The area's only outdoor performance venue
 - Sump Memorial Library - Offers Free Wi-Fi and programming for all ages

1.  Check out the PARKS AND REC WEBSITE!  It is loaded with fun things to do!
  • Over the summer, there are tons of 5K's, 10K's, an Extreme 5K, Papillion Days, etc
2.  Papio Bay Aquatic Park - Is about 5 minutes from our house.

3.  Farmers Market and Summer concerts at City Park - Again, only about 5 minutes from our house
4.  Schwer Park Splash Pad - Guess how far it is from our house?

We are getting excited for SUMMER!

It's True...

We are going to Omaha!

As many of you know, our family has been on the "we are moving - we aren't moving" train for a while.  We are tired of the ride.  After a lot of soul searching, debating, pros and cons, sad tears, happy tears and more soul searching, we are moving to Omaha.

This past year has been full of joy and hardships for us.  The twins were born and because of that, Rian's bosses took mercy on us and said we could try and figure out staying in Denver.  We tried VERY HARD.  We are tired.  I am tired because I am home with three kids by myself 4 out of 7 days every week.  Rian is tired because he is traveling 4 out of 7 days every week.

We are ready to be a family again.

We are moving to Omaha.  Or as Cameron refers to it:  Homaha

Come back and check the blog for updates on:

  • Ways to make a rental house your own
